Presenting language in small fragments is still popular with many teachers, while for others holistic approaches are the only route to L2 acquisition.
Through the vehicle of a fotonovela, with the two main sides of the debate, for and against teaching grammar presented as two characters arguing their case against each other, Ms Holistic and Mr McNugget, I will attempt to present the arguments as clearly as possible and explore some possible avenues of compromise through insights from Skills Acquisition theories
