34th TESOL Greece Annual International Convention in Athens on March 30th-31st.
85 speakers from 25 countries including the USA, the UK and Greece will be presenting the latest trends and best practices in English Language Teaching. The convention features 5 plenaries, workshops, talks, debates, poster presentations, a rich book exhibition, treasure hunt (the prize is free hotel accommodation for 7 days in Corfu), a €400 scholarship for a lucky applicant, the Saturday night party with a view of the Acropolis and many other benefits for the attendants.
The distinguished plenary speakers – Charles Alderson, Christine Coombe, Juliane House, George Drivas, Thomais Alexiou and Marina Mattheoudaki – will deal with issues that concern the Greek EFL professional and teaching trends internationally. Promoting the innovative and practical aspects of teaching , the convention is expected to be attended by many delegates from Greece and abroad who are attracted by the high standards of the presentations and the potential for networking with top professionals in the field.
TESOL Greece has responded to the crisis with creativity and has invested even more in continuous professional development for its members. 8 annual events with a total of more than 30 talks and workshops during the academic year, an international convention in March, a 32 pages newsletter 4 times a year and a blog with contributors from all over the world and 15000 visits within only 5 months of its creation, are a few of the benefits offered to TESOL Greece members.
The board of directors recently announced the launching of a new website with facilities for livestreaming events so that members from every part from Greece can attend them without having to pay for travel expenses. The new website will start operating soon after the convention.
The registration for the convention starts on Saturday at 9 a.m. and is open during the convention. The book exhibition is open from 9a.m. till 7p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m till 3 p.m. on Sunday.
