Open seminars in Athens and Thessaloniki by Cambridge English and the British Council

Dear Colleagues,

The British Council and Cambridge English Language Assessment are happy to invite you to their free of charge Open seminars in Athens and Thessaloniki on the updated Cambridge English: Proficiency Examination 2013 and FCE for Schools.

These seminars will be lead by Ms. Olga Leondaris, Client Relationship Officer for Cambridge English Language Assessment South East Europe (SEE), aimed at providing teachers with practical ideas forclassroom teaching and thorough guidelines on marking and candidate performance in relation to Cambridge English’s recently set Writing Assessment Criteria as well as answers to any queries relevant to the content of these two Cambridge English exams.

Seminar Content:

  • The New Assessment Criteria for Writing (B– C2)
    A session on Cambridge ESOL’s new assessment criteria and other features of the unified mark scheme in relation to Cambridge English B1 to C2 examinations.
  • The New CPE Part 1 Writing Task
    A session that clarifies what is expected in the Writing Part 1 for Proficiency with practical tips that can assist you in its teaching.
  • FCE for Schools Writing Workshop
    A workshop that will show you how B2 scripts are marked and how it might affect your teaching of the Writing paper for FCE for Schools.

Seminar sessions programme:

These aforementioned topics constitute one session with an approximate duration of 2 hours. For your convenience, three different sessions will be offered in each city so as to enable you to choose the onethat best fits your schedule.

Athens

Friday 15 Februaryat the Golden Age Hotel (Michalakopoulou 57, near Megaro Mousikis metro station)

Session 1: 09:00am-11:00am

Session 2: 11:30am-13:30pm

Session 3: 14:00pm-16:00pm

Session 2: 11:30am-13:30pm

Session 3: 14:00pm-16:00pm
